Wanna go for something healthy and delicious as well. If yes than here is a recipe from my region Naga Style Chicken Curry Chicken With Bamboo Shoots And Greens. 

It is a zero oil dish. Very simple and easy to make. Naga Cuisine is also considered as one of the healthiest. Most of the dishes are consumed in boiled/steamed form. And doesn’t use much spices apart from local spices and herbs. 

Here the chicken is boiled with bamboo shoots, grounded green chillies, crushed ginger garlic and greens and flavored with sichuan peppercorns. Just few simple ingredients and you will have a scrumptious curry. I am sure you will like it.

Recipe details:

  • Preparation time: 15 mins
  • Cooking time :20-25 mins
  • Servings : 3

Ingredients:

  • Chicken – 300 gms 
  • Green chillies – 8-10 nos
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Garlic – 5-6 cloves 
  • Fermented Bamboo Shoots – 2 tbsp 
  • Greens – a good amount
  • Sichuan peppercorns – ½ tsp 
  • Salt to taste 
  • Water as required 

Method:

In a mortar and pestle coarsely ground the green chillies, ginger and garlic. Keep aside. 

Dry roast the sichuan peppercorns, crushed and keep aside. 

In a pan add the chicken pieces, salt to taste, bamboo shoots and add enough water and bring to boil. Cook the chicken for 5-10 mins. 

Add the coarsely grounded green chillies ginger and garlic and continue to cook till chicken is cooked completely. 

Add the greens and crushed roasted sichuan peppercorns and cook for about 5 mins and take off the heat.
