Easy Chicken Curry

Easy Chicken Curry is Indian style chicken curry made with a blend of Indian spices. This is one chicken curry recipe which is also quick and easy to make and is ready under 20 minutes. A mildly spiced curry that taste so good for something so quick and easy, you will be amazed and will keep making it over again.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams  chicken 
  • 3 medium  potato  large cubes
  • 2-3 tablespoon  oil
  • ½ teaspoon  fennel seeds (snauf)
  • 3 dry red chilli whole
  • 2 medium onion chopped 
  • 1 teaspoon  ginger garlic paste
  • 2 medium  tomato 
  • 1 teaspoon  turmeric powder (haldi powder)
  • 1 tablespoon  Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon  cumin powder (jeera powder)
  • ½ teaspoon  fennel powder (snauf powder)
  • 1 tablespoon  coriander powder (dhania powder)
  • ½ teaspoon  black pepper powder (kali mirch powder)
  • 1 teaspoon  garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon  meat masala powder (optional)
  • salt as per taste
  • 2-3 cups  water
  • few coriander leaves chopped

Instructions
 

  • Get ready all the ingredients and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan or pot. Add the fennel seeds and dry red chillies and let it crackle.
  • Add chopped onions and saute till onion turns soft.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  • Add tomatoes and saute till it turns mushy.
  • Add the masala powders, salt, mix well and fry for few seconds.
  • Add the chicken, potatoes and mix well with the masalas.
  • Cover the pan with lid and cook for about 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Add 2-3 cups of water, cover the pan with lid and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Adjust the gravy consistency as per your requirement, add chopped coriander leaves, give a quick stir and turn off the heat.

Notes

This chicken curry taste amazing with baby potato too. So if you can source it or if baby potato is in season please try to use that.
And yes this recipe is so versatile. You can use egg, mutton, beef, pork and fish as well for this recipe. It turns heavenly just as the chicken curry.
