Mutton Curry With Coriander Seeds

Mutton curry with coriander seeds is a super easy mutton curry recipe with just a handful of basic ingredients. Tender, succulent pieces of meat are cooked in a semi-spicy onion, tomato and freshly ground coriander seeds gravy that makes it the perfect bowl of comfort food with rice or any flatbreads

- 500 Grams Mutton (Lamb)
- 2 Tablespoon Oil
- 3 Tablespoon Coriander seeds
- 3 Medium Dry red chilli
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger garlic grated (or paste)
- 1 Sprig Curry leaves
- 2 Medium Onion finely chopped
- 2 Medium Tomato finely chopped
- 1 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 Tablespoon Red chilli powder
- 2 Teaspoon Salt or as per your taste
- 2 Cups Water or as required
Dry roast the coriander seeds for a min and grind them into a fine powder. Keep aside.
Add the mutton in a bowl, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, 1 tbsp of coriander powder, salt to taste, mix well and keep aside while you ready the other ingredients.
Add the marinated mutton in a pressure cooker and cook in medium heat for about 10 minutes stirring it occasionally.
Add 1 cup water and pressure cook for 5 to 6 whistles. Let the pressure release naturally.
Heat oil in a pot. Add dry red chillies, crushed ginger garlic, curry leaves and saute for a minute.
Add finely chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes.
Add finely chopped tomato and saute till onion turns mushy.
Add the coriander seeds powder and saute for a minute.
Add the pressure cooked mutton, mix well with the masala and cook for 5 minutes on high heat.
Add water as required and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes or until the mutton is tender and cooked through. You can sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and take off the heat.
Your flavorful mutton curry is ready to be served. Enjoy it with piping hot steam rice or any Indian flatbread.
