Eggless Savoury Semolina Cake

Savoury Semolina Cake is an easy peasy savoury cake loaded with vegetables. It is an egg free, butter free cake. It can be a perfect tea cake or a breakfast cake or a quick evening snacks. Soft, delicious and healthier spiced cake.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup semolina  (rawa/sooji/suji)
  • ¼ cup Curd / yogurt
  • ¼ teaspoon  baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon  baking powder
  • 1 small pinch turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon  chilly powder or chilly flakes
  • 1 small onion  chopped
  • 1 small green chilly chopped
  • 2 tablespoon  red capsicum
  • 4 french beans chopped
  • few leaves coriander  chopped 
  • 1 teaspoon  ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon  poppy seeds crushed
  • ¼ teaspoon  white sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon  black sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon  cumin seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon  mustard seeds
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • 3 tablespoon  oil
  • 150-180 ml water
  • salt as per taste

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl add the curd, baking soda, mix well and keep aside for about 5 minutes.
  • Preheat oven @180° C for 10 minutes. Grease a cake pan, line with parchment paper or simply dust it with flour. Keep aside
  • In the curd mixture add the semolina, baking powder, salt as per taste, water and mix well. Keep aside while you make the other ingredients ready.
  • In a sauce pan heat 1 tablespoon of oil.
  • Add the sesame seeds, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and let it crackle. Remove from heat and pour this over the semolina mixture.
  • Now add the remaining ingredients, mix them well and make a batter.
  • Pour the batter into the greased pan and tap the pan for couple of times.
  • Bake it in the preheated oven @180° C for 30-35 mins. A toothpick inserted should come our clean. Mine took exactly 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, let it cool down, invert, cut and serve.
