This is a quick and easy fish curry. There isn’t much of a pre-preparation that you will need to spend time on too. The jhol aka curry is made with minimal spices and that is why it is called as a light curry.
The curry is very scrumptious with the flavour of the fish with cauliflower and potato combined uplifts the flavours of the curry even more making it a mind-blowing and lip-smacking curry.
I love fish head. It’s one of my favourite portion in fish. This combination of fish with potato and cauliflower is delectable and I love this combo since potato and cauliflower are my favourite vegetables. My vegetarian version of potato cauliflower is Potato Cauliflower Curry aka Aloo Gobi Sabji.
HOW TO MAKE PERFECT FISH WITH VEGETABLE CURRY
As mentioned above this is a easy and simple curry made with limited ingredients. The first ingredients I highly recommend is Mustard oil. Mustard oil adds a rich and deep flavor to your curry. So I would advise to stick to it but if you don’t get mustard oil feel free to use any vegetable oil with neutral flavor like sunflower oil, canola oil etc. Secondly, the fish needs to slightly fried before adding to the curry. This step is important and recommend not to skip this step. Thirdly, Onion is not used in this recipe but you can 100% add onion which makes the curry even more delicious.
VARIATIONS AND SUBSTITUTION FOR MAKING THIS FISH HEAD CURRY

● You may add onion to the curry.
● You can add other vegetables like peas, cabbage and seasonal veggies.
