Sharing my last blog of the year with a crab recipe. Me and my husband we both love crab and a big fan of it. Crab being one of our favourite I choose to blog a Masala Crab recipe today with step by step pictures.This is the last blog of the year for At My Kitchen blog. It was an amazing year, received wonderful feedbacks from tons of people. In this last 2 years of blogging journey, this year 2019 was the best. Thank you all who stopped by my blog and for all the love and support shown towards my blog.

As we come to an end here’s wishing everyone a very Happy And Prosperous New Year. Well coming to the recipe, this crab masala is prepared with pureed onion tomato paste, grinded paste of coconut, poppy seeds, cashewnuts, peppercorns and fennel seeds along with few basic spice masala powders. It turned out very delectable and aromatic.

Serves: 3

Ingredients to make Crab Masala:

500 gms Crab cleaned
3 tbsp Oil
2 large Onion roughly chopped
2 medium Tomato roughly chopped
2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp chilly powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
Few coriander leaves chopped
Water as required

For Grinding:

½ cup coconut grated
1 tbsp poppy seeds
4-5 whole cashewnuts (optional)
1 tsp peppercorns
1 tsp fennel seeds

How to make Crab Masala:

In a blender add the chopped onions and tomatoes and blend it into a smooth mixture. Remove and set aside.

Next add all the ingredients listed in grinding section and grind them into a smooth paste by adding very little water. Remove and aside.Heat oil in a pan. Add the onion tomato mixture and saute them for about 2 minutes.Add the ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.Add salt and spice powders – turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, mix them well and cook for a minute.Add the cleaned crabs, stir and mix well them with the masalas. Cook for about 5 minutes.Add the coconut mixture and well mix. Pour some water, mix well and cook with lid on for about 15-20 minutes.Add chopped coriander leaves, give a quick stir and take off the heat.Your delicious and tempting crab masala is ready. Serve it with your meals as a side dish or enjoy it as a starter.
