Bitter Gourd Fry with step by step pictures. Bitter gourd fry is an easy and quick recipe that is mildly spiced. It is simple to make and turns out tasty and delicious.

Bitter gourd fry is a very simple recipe prepared with easily available and minimal ingredients and is ready under 30 mins. A perfect and amazing side dish for your meal.

Bitter gourd is one amongst my favourite vegetable. Not many people are fond of bitter gourd because of its bitter taste but I am very fond of it and loved to have it often.

Few of the bitter gourd dishes I love and which I often make are deep fried bitter gourd, bitter gourd and potato fry, boiled bittergourd with bamboo shoot extract and the list goes on. I will incorporate these recipes in my blog soon so watch out and stay tuned.

This bitter gourd fry can be served as a side dish with dal rice, rasam rice or sambar rice. It also goes well with chapathi or roti.

Preparation time : 10 mins
Cooking time : 20-25 mins
Serves : 3-4

Ingredients:
250 gms Bitter Gourd sliced
3 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
2 Onion sliced
3 green chilly chopped
1 sprig Curry leaves
1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Red Chilly powder
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 tsp Coriander powder
1/4 tsp Pepper powder
1 tsp Garam Masala powder
Salt to taste

Method:

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let it crackle.

Add the onion, green chilly, curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and saute for till onion turns soft.

Add the turmeric powder, red chilly powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, Salt to taste, mix well and saute for a min.

Add the sliced bitter gourd and mix well and stir fry for few mins.

Cover the pan and cook in medium heat stirring it occasionally for about 15-20 mins.

Add the garam Masala powder, mix well and cook on high heat for about 5 mins and take off the heat.
