Let’s learn how to make Indian style crab curry with step by step pictures. Crab Curry is a delicious, spicy and flavorful curry with good blend of spices. The spices makes the curry spicy and mouthwatering.

This crab curry is prepared without using coconut. It is an aromatic and flavorful curry. If you love carb and like spicy food you can try this recipe and I am sure you will love it. Its taste will linger on your taste-buds always.

I am a big fan of seafood and crab is one of my favourite seafood. This crab curry goes well with piping hot steam rice. This can also be paired with dosa, chapathi or any Indian flatbreads. The taste is heavenly and finger licking good.

Preparation time : 10 mins
Cooking time : 20 mins
Serves : 3

Ingredients:
500 gms Crab
2 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1 Onion chopped
2 Dry Red Chilly broken
1 Sprig Curry Leaves
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Cumin powder / Jeera powder
1/2 tsp Fennel powder / Saunf powder
1 tsp Coriander powder / Dhania powder
1 tsp Garam Masala powder
1 tsp Red Chilly powder / Lal Mirch
Salt to taste
Water as required

For Grinding:
2 Onion Chopped
1 Tomato Chopped
8-10 Garlic cloves
1 inch Ginger chopped

Method:

Take all the ingredients mentioned in the grinding list and blend it into fine puree.

Heat oil in a pot, add the cumin seeds and let it crackle.

Add the onion, curry leaves, red chillies and saute till onion starts to brown.

Add the puree and saute for about 2 mins.

Add the masala powders – turmeric, cumin, fennel, coriander, garam masala, red chilly, salt to taste, stir well and saute for a min.

Add the cleaned crabs, mix well and cook for about 5 mins.

Add water as required, cover and cook for 10-15 mins.

Adjust the gravy consistency as per your requirements and take off the heat.
