French Toast Roll Ups – French toast with jam fillings and rolled up in cinnamon sugar mixture. A perfect breakfast and ideal for kids tiffin box or after school snack. Moreover it is pretty impressive and crowd pleasing.

French toast roll ups is an easy and quick breakfast recipe which is tempting as well as delicious. To make it more delicious and appealing, I have applied jam to the bread, then rolled and dip in egg and then shallow fried. The French toast roll ups are then rolled in sugar and cinnamon mixture. I have team it up with a healthy and nutritious strawberry yogurt parfait which is also an easy fix when we are in rush or running out of time.

You can choose whatever filling you did like for these yummy treat. I have used mixed fruit jam, you can use cream cheese, fresh cut fruits etc.

Preparation time : 15 mins
Cooking time : 10 mins
Serves : 3

Ingredients :

5 large Sandwich Bread slices
2 Eggs
2 tbsp Milk
2-3 drops Vanilla essence
3-4 tbsp Jam (I used mixed fruit jam)
2 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Cinnamon powder or as required
2-3 tbsp Butter or oil for shallow frying

Note : For vegetarian replace egg with Cornflour slurry.

Method:

Take eggs, milk and vanilla essence in a bowl. Mix this well till it is combined.

Take the bread slices, remove the crust off and roll them with a rolling pin.

Apply good amount of jam on them.

Roll them thinly and tightly. Dip the rolls in the eggy mixture. Do the same to everything.

Heat butter/ oil in a tawa and place the roll ups.

Shallow fry the rolls on all sides so it gets evenly cooked and golden. Remove them and keep on a plate.

In a plate mix the sugar and cinnamon powder. Now take the French toast rolls in the sugar cinnamom mixture and serve.
