Bhapa Doi is a Bengali traditional steamed or baked sweetened yogurt dessert. It is the most popular dessert of the Bengalis. Bhapa doi is one teaditional dessert which is savoured and loved by all ages. It is a must have sweet dish in the Bengali’s wedding and special occasions.

Steamed Mango Yogurt is just the same of Bengali’s famous bhapa doi flavoured with mango. A fusion twist to the traditional bhapa doi. It is a perfect summer dessert to relish and beat the scorching heat with this light, creamy and cold steamed mango yogurt. It is also a healthy dessert as well. The dessert turned out to be silky, smooth and luscious that you can’t stop with just couple of spoonful feeding 😋😜.

It is easy to prepare with minimal ingredients. It is a mouth watering and delicious dessert. The fresh mango flavour in it makes the dessert more irresistible.

All you need to make this steamed mango yogurt is a steamer and couple of ingredients which can be easily sourcible. You can even switch the cooking method as per your preference. You can bake it with a water bath in the oven if you don’t want to go for the steaming method.

Preparation time : 10 mins

Cooking time : 20-25 mins

Serves: 3-4

Ingredients to make steamed mango yogurt:

1 cup hung Curd/Yogurt

1/2 cup Mango Puree

1/4 cup Sugar

1/2 cup Milk

3 tbsp Condensed Milk

Water for steamer

Few chopped Mangoes, black grapes and mint leaves for garnish

How to make steamed mango yogurt:

In a blender add the curd, mango puree, sugar, milk ,condensed milk and blend it until smooth and everything is blended well together.

Take a spring form pan and carefully pour the mixture over it and spread the mixture evenly.

Gently tap the pan 2-3 times to spread the mixture evenly and to release any air bubbles in the mixture. Cover the pan with an aluminium foil.

Take a steaming pot and add water and bring to boil. Once the water comes to a boil gently place the pan into the steamer and and steam for 20-25 mins or until it is set.

Remove the pan from the steamer and let it cool down. Once cool down refrigerate for atleast 1 hour .

Garnish as per your likings and serve chilled.
